on slide film : the unpredictable side of cross-processing

March 17, 2008

This is my first ever look at a slide film cross-processed that is not a Kodak Elitechrome. One day, I took the fiery pink and orange sunset with my canon av-1 + an even more fiery fujichrome velvia 100. Here were the hot, hot HOT results.

The thing with cross-process is the unpredictability of the colors. Maybe expired slides has something to do with it as well. I noticed that when you aim it at the sun, the colors can range from reddish purple to a deep burning red-orange. It changes the sky to an almost purplish hue, and green leaves seem to liven up.

x-processed velvias gives it a more lush and bright color on a warm afternoon sun.

everything turns a bit toasty and burnt. already leaning towards the side of rustic, but I love the colors better that way rather than the whole red-washed photo.

i is red. i burn like fire.

Even the newest of new gets to have an almost vintage feel. Like this fan at Jollibee.
